A few weeks ago I was asked to cover the concert of a good friend of mine and I thought about it at first because of the increased pressure there would be to do a good job. Some time later, I was also asked to create a slide show to coincide with one of the songs that would be performed. How could I say no though? He's not only a friend but he's like a brother and would do the same for me! So here I am pressured to cover the event, and like a wedding, where there's only one chance to get it right!
Greg and his fellow band members, please accept my apology for misspelling your group name in the original slide show!! Talk about feeling the pressure!
Well last night, my girlfriend and I headed over to cover the concert where you could feel the excitement in the air as the band arrived and made final preparations. The radio station was there and of course it was being recorded on video as well. This was it. This was their first concert from their first album and I was there to share in all the excitement.

Here's the slideshow that was seen by a "standing room only" crowd! You could stand there and feel the emotions as several people in the audience were seen shedding tears as they listened to this music that really hit home for some. The dialogue from the music was also very emotional as Greg, the percussionist and friend, spoke about his mother's battle with cancer.

Was I the only ine that hasn't done any yard work in a couple of weeks? Phew! This is definately not how I expected to start off my day but I suppose it needed to be done. I havew always been one to do things on my own and yard work is no different.
Most of my neighbors hire professional landscapers to do the physical and demanding task of trimming hedges, mowing the lawn, and blowing it all clean. Well after about an hour of labor and almosta buscket's worth of sweat, I had finally finished the FRONT yard! I must say that after all that work, I couldn't dare begin on the back!! Afterall, this was only a couple of hours after my daily workout and my legs were feeling it every step of the way.

Now this was supposed to be just another day when I woke up this morning. I received a request from my girlfriend to do a couple of quick snapshots for her to post online. How could I say no? With camera ready, the backdrop already selected, and that look in her eyes, I was ready to go! It didn't matter to me (or her) that I was still wearing my sleeping clothes since this was only supposed to be a couple of snapshots, right? Well after about the 5th shot or so she asked for me to jump in and take a couple!! Hugh?! I was not dressed for her to plaster my face across the internet on one of her online communities. Geeze, let me at least put some clothes on! She was in such a hurry to have some new pictures posted, she didn't allow me the time to do anything, so I jumped right in there. I positioned myself where the viewer could only get a view of my upper torso and face.
After about 10 minutes of snapshots, I uploaded the pictures to my pc and had an idea. I was actually amazed at how I was able to turn a snaphsot into what it is now. Needless to say, I was quite pleased with the end results and didn't mind taking pictures in my pj's!
